Vertical Lift Modules stored goods on trays on racks in front and rear with a lift moving up-down in center with automated storage-retrieval of trays over the racks. Conventional VLM have single columns of longer wider trays. While Multiple Column VLMs have smaller trays stored over multiple columns – which gives more tray locations, better usage of space, lighter structures, smaller power.

VLM is high-density automated vertical storage solution for slow-medium mover goods.
It brings goods to person at an ergonomic height for order picking in just a few steps.
VLM stores goods in minimal footprint saving costly floor space that can be put to more profitable use.
Fully enclosed lockable goods storage protects goods against damage, dirt, theft, unauthorized access.
VLM ranges 1500 mm to 4500 mm wide. 2100 to 3000mm deep. 2400 mm to 9000 mm high.
Higher VLM possible but not advisable as it slows down output rate.
Trays sizes 1200 mm to 3900 mm wide, 800 mm to 1200 mm deep. Stores products upto 600 mm high
Payload per tray range 275 kgs to 900 kgs.
VLM can achieve high throughout rates from 150 items/hour to 350 items/hour. Output depends on size of goods, nature of SKUs, single-batch order picking, use of pick to light, put to light devices, peripheral handling-conveying systems.
Faster throughput achieved by placing fast movers, co-picked items, slotting items, seasonal items together and close to access window reduces travel to store-retrieve trays.
Optional height sensors measure job height in each storage tray. This allows trays to be stored with 25mm vertical height between them to maximize storage density.
VLM storing heavy goods can have extractable trays and lifting devices for heavy items.
